A Tribute to Japan’s Great Unifiers
From July 1 to September 30, 2026, DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle will host a seasonal kakigori (shaved ice) event at its 6th-floor Lounge & Bar SEN (Shu). Titled “Sengoku Three Great Warlords,” the series features three elaborate desserts inspired by the historical figures Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Oda Nobunaga. These creations blend traditional Japanese summer refreshment with seasonal ingredients and artistic presentation, located just minutes from the historic Osaka Castle.

The HIDEYOSHI: A Golden Pineapple Collaboration
The highlight of the collection is the “Pine Ame Collaboration HIDEYOSHI” (¥3,500 (≈ $22)), named after the warlord closely associated with the construction of Osaka Castle. This dish is a collaboration with the local Osaka confectionery Pine Co., Ltd. and utilizes a whole hollowed-out pineapple. It is layered with fresh fruit, compote, mascarpone mousse, and vanilla ice cream. The dessert is finished with gold leaf and a “Slice Pine Ame”—a large, crispy version of the famous local candy—alongside a candy-crafted katana sword.

Luxury Melon and Tropical Flavors: IEYASU and NOBUNAGA
The series also includes the “Whole Melon IEYASU” (¥5,000 (≈ $32)), which uses an entire melon to represent Tokugawa Ieyasu. It features melon espuma, jelly, and a chocolate helmet design with lang de chat leaves symbolizing longevity. For a bolder profile, the “Mixed Juice NOBUNAGA” (¥3,500 (≈ $22)) captures the strength of Oda Nobunaga with a vibrant red helmet design. It offers an Osaka-style mixed juice flavor combined with tropical mango, passion fruit, and yogurt mousse for a refreshing summer profile.
