Amanemu Marks Ten Years with New Experience-Led Stays in Ise-Shima

In celebration of its tenth anniversary on March 1, 2026, Amanemu is redefining its guest experience. Starting June 1, 2026, the resort will transition to a new stay model designed to integrate the heritage of Ise-Shima more deeply into the guest journey. The updated nightly rate will include breakfast and dinner featuring regional delicacies, a minibar stocked with spirits, and one curated “Private Experience” per night, allowing guests to engage with the spiritual and natural landscape of the Mie region.

A Decade of Serenity: The New Amanemu Experience

The transition marks a shift toward a more inclusive model that emphasizes cultural immersion. Every suite and villa at the property continues to offer private access to mineral-rich natural onsen (hot spring) water, complemented by the resort’s expansive thermal spring facilities. The new structure ensures that the local environment—from the culinary offerings to the daily activities—is central to the stay.

Sacred Landscapes and Private Cultural Immersions

The resort’s new “Private Experience” menu offers a selection of cultural and nature-based activities. Guests can choose from guided tours of the sacred Ise Jingu shrine, traditional craft workshops involving local pearls or hemp, and cruises across the islet-dotted Ago Bay. For those seeking deeper immersion, the program includes hiking in Minami-Ise and takigyo (waterfall meditation) at the site of Ama-no-Iwato, a location central to Japanese mythology.

Wellness Rooted in Tradition: The Tokowaka Philosophy

To mark the milestone, Amanemu has launched two signature wellness programs. The “Forest and Water” Spa Journey is a 120-minute treatment using handmade herb balls and onsen-water Shirodhara. Additionally, the “Essence of Tokowaka” is a two-day wellness retreat inspired by the “Shikinen Sengu” ritual of eternal renewal. This program combines 12 sessions of yoga, acupuncture, and bodywork designed to align the body’s rhythms with the five elements.

Culinary offerings also reflect this spiritual connection, with menus inspired by shinsen (offerings to the deities). These seasonal menus feature prominent local ingredients, including Matsusaka beef, Ise lobster, and regional vegetables, served in a setting that overlooks the surrounding forest and sea.
