Hotel Nikko Osaka to Launch Gourmet Shaved Ice for Summer 2026

Hotel Nikko Osaka has announced the return of its seasonal summer tradition, the “Chunky Fruit Shaved Ice” series, available at the Tea Lounge “Fountain” from July 1 to August 31, 2026. This year’s collection emphasizes high-grade regional produce, including Crown Melon and Miyazaki Mango, paired with ice made from Shinshu deep-layer natural water.

Signature Whole Crown Melon Experience

The centerpiece of the summer menu is the “Marugoto Melon,” which utilizes an entire premium Crown Melon. One half of the fruit serves as the bowl, filled with layers of soft ice, vanilla ice cream, and a refreshing mint custard cream. The dish is topped with spheres of fresh melon marinated in honey and dill, while a crumble layer provides a textural contrast to the fruit’s natural sweetness and aroma.

July Exclusive: Miyazaki Mango and Arakawa Peach

During the month of July, the menu introduces two specific seasonal specialties. The “Miyazaki Mango” shaved ice features dense, sweet fruit paired with cream cheese ice cream and coconut sauce. A mango-passionfruit puree is added to enhance the tropical flavor profile. Simultaneously, the “Arakawa Peach” selection uses half a peach sourced from Wakayama Prefecture. This iteration is composed of fromage blanc ice cream, rose geranium-scented cookie crumble, and a strawberry-peach parfait base.

August Finale: Shine Muscat and Nagano Purple

As the season progresses into August, the focus shifts to the “Shine Muscat” shaved ice. This multi-layered dessert conceals milk ice cream, a tart apple compote, and elderflower-scented cookies beneath the shaved ice. The presentation is finished with fresh Shine Muscat grapes and a deep purple sauce made from Nagano Purple grapes, offering a comprehensive exploration of Japanese grape varieties to conclude the summer series.
