The Westin Rusutsu Resort Debuts White Afternoon Tea with ISHIYA

The Westin Rusutsu Resort has partnered with ISHIYA, the operator of Shiroi Koibito Park, to launch the “White Afternoon Tea and LIVE Sweets ~Mifuyu Kogareyuki~.” This collaboration celebrates Hokkaido’s iconic Shiroi Koibito confection, translating its delicate langue de chat texture and white chocolate profiles into a seasonal tea service. Every element is designed with a white aesthetic intended to evoke the region’s winter landscapes, even during the warmer months.

Snow-White Sweets and Savories

The service features three tiers of items developed to mirror the flavors of ISHIYA’s signature treats. Highlights include the “White Opera Praline Crunch,” which replicates the specific crunch of a Shiroi Koibito cookie, and a savory “White Funka Bay Scallop Guimauve Lollipop.” Scones are accompanied by a house-made cream crafted from Shiroi Koibito soft-serve ice cream. The experience is paired with the resort’s original blend tea and a selection of eight varieties from ART OF TEA.

Live Sweets Performance and Creative Workshops

Following the tiered service, guests are served “LIVE Sweets ~Mifuyu Kogareyuki~,” a plated dessert finished tableside by the culinary team. It features ISHIYA’s seasonal “Mifuyu Kogareyuki Orange” chocolate paired with tea-flavored gelato and light pastry. Additionally, on July 25 and 26, the resort will host a workshop where guests can decorate a large heart-shaped Shiroi Koibito cookie using chocolate pens.
