Westin Hotel Sendai Presents Caramel and Autumn Story Afternoon Tea

Westin Hotel Sendai will host a seasonal afternoon tea themed around an “Autumn Story” from September 26 to November 27, 2026. The experience is centered on a narrative involving the hotel’s original character, Noix—a squirrel pastry chef who collects seasonal ingredients like nuts, chestnuts, and fruits to prepare treats. Set in the 26th-floor Restaurant Symphony, the service is designed to evoke the atmosphere of an autumn forest through its scents, colors, and presentation.

A Narrative Tea Experience Guided by Noix

The concept invites guests to progress through the menu as if turning the pages of a storybook. The table is decorated to reflect a forest floor, providing a backdrop for the tiered stand and seasonal plates. This narrative approach highlights the transition into autumn, focusing on the warmth of caramel and the earthy textures of forest-sourced ingredients.

Seasonal Sweets and Local Savories

The tea stand includes seven varieties of sweets, such as a mont blanc parfait made with Japanese chestnuts from Ehime Prefecture, a caramel and pear cake, and caramel tarts shaped like apples. These items are complemented by a savory selection titled “Forest Hospitality,” which emphasizes regional produce. Highlights include Sendai beef braised in red wine, a soup made from Sendai Kintoki sweet potato, and Maitake mushrooms marinated with Shinrin-dori chicken.

The savory items are presented with attention to seasonal motifs, including pumpkin-shaped elements and garnishes that mimic the appearance of autumn leaves, reinforcing the forest theme of the menu.

To accompany the food, guests can choose from 16 different beverages, including premium selections from JING TEA and Ronnefeldt, coffee, and original mocktails designed for the season.
