Conrad Nagoya to Debut ‘The First Bloom’ Afternoon Tea

To mark its arrival in the city, Conrad Nagoya has announced its first seasonal dining event, “The First Bloom” afternoon tea. Scheduled to run from August 1 to October 27, 2026, the experience is hosted at SUNDROP, the hotel’s lobby lounge and bar situated on the 31st floor. The theme draws inspiration from a modern garden in full bloom, utilizing floral aromas such as rose, orchid, and elderflower to celebrate the property’s debut.

A Celebration of New Beginnings through Floral Aromas

The experience is designed to mirror the radiance of the lounge’s namesake, “sun drop,” and the vitality of a blossoming garden. Each element of the menu reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, blending international luxury standards with the seasonal nuances of the region. Reservations for the event will begin on July 8, 2026, ahead of the hotel’s grand opening on July 31.

Artistic Sweets and Savories Crafted with Local Excellence

Executive Chef Sato and the pastry team have developed a menu that highlights the bounty of Aichi Prefecture. The sweets selection includes the “Rose Couture,” a raspberry macaron infused with rose scents, and the “First Light,” a lemongrass mousse sweetened with local Aichi honey. Other highlights include a citrus-forward jelly featuring fresh grapes, showcasing the seasonal transitions of late summer and autumn.

The savory menu applies classical French techniques to regional ingredients. Notable items include a foie gras preparation paired with white peach, and an ocean-inspired lobster tart topped with caviar. These dishes are complemented by unique textures and presentations, such as a savory taco-style bite garnished with delicate yellow blooms and a chilled glass dish topped with crisp greenery.

Exclusive Tea Selection and Premium Coffee Experience

Beverage service is a central component of the experience, featuring a selection of 25 teas. This includes three signature blends exclusive to Conrad Nagoya that highlight the Aichi terroir, such as the “Golden Quiet” Aichi black tea and a Nishio matcha blend titled “Bright Lift.” For coffee enthusiasts, the lounge serves illy coffee prepared with modular-style single-origin blend machines—a first for Japan—honoring Nagoya’s established deep-roast coffee culture.
