Hoshino Resorts to Open BEB5 Mojiko in Fukuoka in July 2026

Opening on July 24, 2026, BEB5 Mojiko by Hoshino Resorts marks the brand’s first venture into Fukuoka Prefecture. Located in the Mojiko Retro district, the hotel is designed around the concept of “Tokimeki Strait Stay,” providing a base for travelers to experience the Kanmon Strait. The property aims to capture the transition from the golden hues of sunset to the warm glow of Taisho-era gas lamps that define the area’s romantic atmosphere.

Social Spaces and Scenic Accommodations

The heart of the hotel is the “TAMARIBA,” a 24-hour public space featuring a cafe, shop, and tiered seating designed for social interaction. On the top floor, a rooftop terrace named “MIZUBA” allows guests to observe ships passing through the strait. The interior design incorporates brick textures and warm lighting to reflect the historic character of the surrounding district.

All 119 guest rooms provide “Strait Views” and feature Kutsurogi Shindai (daybeds) alongside Kokura-ori textile accents, a local craft of Fukuoka. For travelers seeking wellness facilities, the “Strait Sauna Room with Terrace” includes a private dry sauna with self-löyly (steam) and an outdoor cold bath. The property also introduces the BEB brand’s first large communal bath, an infinity-style semi-open-air facility that merges visually with the sea.

Gastronomy and Retro-Inspired Activities

Dining at the hotel centers on the “Noodle Bar Buffet,” reflecting Mojiko’s history as an international trade port. Guests can customize multinational noodle dishes with various soups and toppings. A live kitchen serves teppanyaki beef in the evening and banana French toast in the morning. Special programmed activities include the “Strait SUNSET HOUR,” featuring a sabrage performance with sparkling wine, and the “Retro Night Lounge,” which transforms the TAMARIBA into a nostalgic space with vintage typewriters and a menu inspired by traditional Japanese cafes.
