Mid-Century Americana: Halloween at 1955 Tokyo Bay

1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts is set to host “Oldies Halloween Night,” a seasonal event drawing inspiration from 1950s American harvest festivals. From September 16 to October 31, 2026, the property will transform its public spaces into a retro-themed celebration of mid-century culture and autumn traditions, offering guests a nostalgic immersion into the era when the first Disneyland opened.

A Retro American Harvest

The hotel lobby will be reimagined as a Pumpkin Patch, a hallmark of the American autumn season. In this space, guests can collect Jack-o’-lantern leaflets designed with the buttermilk shades and plaid patterns that defined 1950s aesthetics. These leaflets serve a dual purpose, functioning as masks that allow visitors to participate in the festive atmosphere while capturing photographs against the themed backdrop.

The 1950s Atmosphere in the 2nd Room

The 2nd Room, a communal space for guests to relax after a day at nearby theme parks, will feature decorations that blend historical American culture with seasonal festivities. The area includes Jack-o’-lanterns dressed in 50s-era fashion, maintaining the property’s “Oldies Goodies” theme. Central to this space is a house-themed setup where guests can participate in a traditional “Trick or Treat!” experience between 20:00 and 22:00. Those who join the activity receive popcorn balls, a classic American Halloween treat, available while daily stocks last.

Seasonal Confections and Sweets

The hotel’s Cafeteria will offer a limited-edition menu of autumn desserts from 18:00 to 23:00 daily. The Pumpkin Pie Sundae, priced at 1,500 JPY, features layers of seasonal flavors topped with a pumpkin-shaped pastry. Another highlight is the “Treat Caramel Apple” for 1,400 JPY, which consists of apple compote and white chocolate presented under a glass cloche with a mysterious smoke effect. Both desserts are limited to 20 servings per day.

These culinary offerings and immersive decorations provide a distinct alternative to standard seasonal events, focusing on factual historical inspiration rather than contemporary marketing tropes.
