Autumn Harvest and Grape Lunch Buffet at The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji

The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji has announced a seasonal dining event at its primary restaurant, Umegoromo. Running from September 1 to November 30, 2026, the “Grape and Autumn Harvest Lunch Buffet” focuses on the transitional flavors of the Japanese autumn. The menu highlights regional produce through a variety of savory dishes and desserts, complemented by a signature yogurt smoothie topped with Shine Muscat grapes available throughout the three-month period.

Monthly Live Kitchen Specials

The buffet’s live kitchen station will introduce a rotating dessert special each month, prepared to order. In September, the focus is on the kanro-ni (chestnuts simmered in syrup), served within a milk-infused chestnut cream puff. October transitions to a Halloween-themed pumpkin pudding, baked slowly with fresh cream to achieve a dense texture.

The series concludes in November with a Japanese-style dessert combining sweet potato ice cream and shiratama monaka. This dish pairs the cold ice cream with zenzai (sweet red bean soup) and crispy rice wafers, reflecting traditional seasonal preparations.

A Diverse Seasonal Lineup

The broader buffet selection includes creative interpretations of autumn ingredients. Savory highlights include a shrimp and grape aspic salad, a spicy pumpkin and raisin salad, and chicken and sweet potato Shkmeruli. The menu also features robust mains such as roast beef, lu rou fan (braised pork rice), and a tomato-based pasta with saury and eggplant.
