Beppu Suginoi Hotel to Introduce Designer Parfaits by Kazuo Suzuki

Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel has announced a new collaboration with Kazuo Suzuki, the Corporate Executive Pastry Chef for ORIX HOTELS & RESORTS. Starting July 1, 2026, the hotel will serve a selection of original parfaits and French-style frozen desserts at the LOUNGE, located on the first floor of the Sora Kan wing. Chef Suzuki, formerly of the Westin Hotel Tokyo, is celebrated for creating sweets that engage all five senses, bringing a high level of craftsmanship to this hot spring resort.

Artisanal Sweets by Executive Pastry Chef Kazuo Suzuki

The collaboration introduces the expertise of Chef Suzuki to the Beppu region, focusing on desserts that balance seasonal flavors with intricate visual presentation. His approach emphasizes the sensory experience, aligning with the resort’s atmosphere overlooking Beppu Bay.

A Menu of Seasonal Elegance: Rouge and Exotic Collections

The new menu features two distinct styles of treats. The premium parfaits (1,800 JPY) include “Rouge,” a vibrant blend of berries and lychee granita, and “Exotic,” a tropical combination of mango and passion fruit. These tall, layered creations are designed for guests seeking a refined afternoon indulgence.

Additionally, the hotel will offer “Parfaits” in the traditional French sense—frozen desserts made with egg yolk, sugar, and cream. These frozen treats (800 JPY) come in “Berry Berry” and “Mango Passion” flavors and are available for both dine-in and takeout, making them a suitable option for post-pool or post-onsen (hot spring) relaxation.

Exclusive Access at the Sora Kan Lounge

These gourmet offerings are served in the atmosphere of the Sora Kan LOUNGE, which features elegant Beppu stone walls and views of the surrounding landscape. To maintain an intimate experience, the dessert service is available exclusively to overnight guests of the hotel between 13:00 and 17:00. This addition further enhances the experience at Suginoi Hotel, known for its “Tanayu” terraced baths and its position overlooking the scenic Beppu Bay.
