From July 1 to August 31, 2026, Restaurant & Lounge Bar eu at the Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka will present the “Princess Afternoon Tea ~Mermaid~,” a seasonal service inspired by the underwater world of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale. The menu emphasizes refreshing summer profiles, utilizing fruits such as peach, coconut, and melon to create a cooling culinary experience during the peak of the Osaka summer.

An Underwater Narrative in Sweets
The tea service is anchored by a collection of sweets designed to evoke an aquatic kingdom. The top tier features a glass dessert of peach and coconut topped with a chocolate trident, alongside a chocolate-and-almond creation depicting a mermaid silhouette. Other thematic elements include a tropical fruit mousse designed to resemble the seabed, coral-themed tarts, and macarons shaped like seashells containing pearl-like accents.

Danish-Inspired Savories and Beverage Pairings
The savory selection pays homage to the story’s Danish origins with a focaccia sandwich featuring frikadeller, a traditional Danish meatball. Additional offerings include a chilled melon gazpacho, truffle-infused mashed potato salad with pickled vegetables, and smoked salmon served in a sea-inspired jelly. To accompany the meal, guests have access to a free-flow selection of approximately 25 beverages, including Ronnefeldt teas, original blends, and cold-pressed juices.

Evening Indulgence: Afternoon Tea Sweets with Dinner
For those unable to attend during the day, the hotel offers a specialized dinner course that incorporates the mermaid-themed sweets as a concluding treat. This evening option includes a full meal of an hors d’oeuvre, soup, and a main dish, followed by two tiers of the afternoon tea’s signature desserts. This service is available from 17:00 to 21:00, providing a themed dining alternative for travelers returning from a day of sightseeing. Reservations can be made through the official booking portal.
