A Twist on a Japanese Summer Tradition
From July 1 to September 30, 2026, Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo will host its annual “Adult Shaved Ice” event at the Cellar Bar. This year’s theme, “Oriental Vacation,” draws inspiration from Asian tropical resorts, offering a way to cool down during humid Tokyo evenings with frozen cocktails that reimagine kakigori (traditional Japanese shaved ice) for a more mature palate.

The Oriental Vacation Menu: Mango and Coconut
The menu features two distinct creations priced at ¥3,000 (≈ $19) each. The “Mango” cocktail blends mango liqueur and rum into a smooth frozen texture, layered over a refreshing, lightly carbonated passion fruit jelly. The “Coconut” option combines coconut and white cacao liqueurs for a gentle sweetness, paired with a sparkling pineapple jelly base to provide a crisp, tropical finish.
An Evening Escape at the Cellar Bar
Located in the Shinjuku area, the Cellar Bar provides a quiet sanctuary away from the summer heat and city crowds. The cocktails are available from 18:00 to 23:00, with last orders for drinks at 22:00. The bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays, with the exception of special holiday openings on September 20 and 21.
