To commemorate the special exhibition “Tove and Moomin – In Search of Something Special,” Hotel New Otani Hakata is launching a dedicated collaboration menu at the Fukuoka City Museum of Art. Running from July 4 to August 30, 2026, the exhibition showcases approximately 300 works by Moomin creator Tove Jansson, including original drawings, sketches, and oil paintings. The hotel’s culinary team has translated this artistic world into a series of themed dishes and drinks available at the museum’s onsite dining venues.

Whimsical Summer Flavors at Restaurant Prunus
Located on the museum’s second floor, Restaurant Prunus presents a menu themed around “Summer in Moominvalley.” Signature offerings include a European-style meatball curry featuring Moomin-shaped rice and a thick salmon burger with character art printed on the buns. The burger design changes seasonally, featuring Moominmamma in July and Little My in August. Other highlights include a tortilla wrap inspired by Snufkin’s tent and a “Moominvalley Starry Sky” frappe decorated with mixed berries to evoke a whimsical night sky.

Artistic Refreshments and Exclusive Collectibles
For a casual break, Cafe Aquam on the first floor offers refreshing beverages such as the “Forest Dew” melon soda and various character-themed floats representing Little My, Snufkin, and the Moomin family. Guests ordering from the collaboration menu receive exclusive limited-edition gifts: original folding fans (sensu) at Restaurant Prunus or collectible acrylic coasters at Cafe Aquam. The cafe also features illustrated cheese bread, designed for a quick snack while exploring the gallery.
