The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu, a lifestyle hotel centered on the concept of “Healing by Kyushu’s Nature,” has announced the “Miyawaka Fair,” running from June 1 to July 31, 2026. Hosted at the hotel’s second-floor restaurant, ONO HAKATA-Octo Natura Kyusyu-, the event highlights the agricultural traditions of Miyawaka City. Located between Fukuoka and Kitakyushu, Miyawaka is recognized for its high-quality rice and the historic wakita onsen (hot spring) district.

A Culinary Journey Through Miyawaka City
The fair is designed to bring the rural atmosphere of Miyawaka into the urban setting of Nakasu. The city’s produce, shaped by its clean water and fertile soil, serves as the foundation for a menu that blends traditional Japanese ingredients with contemporary preparation methods.

Signature Dishes Featuring Local Kyushu Ingredients
The menu at ONO HAKATA incorporates several of the region’s specialized products. Appetizers include Manganji peppers paired with octopus and salmon bruschetta served on bread from the local bakery “Pont Pain.” The main courses focus on Miyawaka beef, prepared as a shakshuka-style stew with a poached egg or as a beef stroganoff served in a bread bowl.

Other offerings include wood-fired pizzas and pastas utilizing local Jio eggs. To conclude the meal or for a mid-day break, the Canvas Lounge provides beverages made with Satoyama lemons, including citrus-based shakes and cocktails.

Exclusive One-Day Pop-Up and Cultural Showcase
On June 20, 2026, the hotel will host a special pop-up event in the Canvas Lounge from 13:00 to 17:00. This afternoon showcase allows guests to sample Miyawaka’s local sake, craft beer, and brown rice coffee. The event will also display goods featuring the “Oidashi-neko” (Exorcising Cat), a local lucky charm with two faces—one to drive away misfortune and the other to welcome good fortune.
