Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umitoakari Marks Fifth Anniversary

Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umitoakari / Hewitt Resort, located in one of Hokkaido’s most prominent hot spring districts, will observe its fifth anniversary in July 2026. To mark the milestone, the property has announced a month of culinary events across its primary dining venues, highlighting regional ingredients such as snow crab and tuna.

Special Kaiseki Dinner at Yunami

Yunami, the restaurant on the first floor, will serve a 5th Anniversary Special kaiseki (multi-course) dinner from July 1 to July 31, 2026. Priced at 8,500 yen, the menu centers on snow crab shabu-shabu—a dish of thinly sliced seafood quickly poached in broth—alongside five varieties of nigiri sushi. The course highlights local Hakodate flavors with dishes such as a squid rice doria and a chicken and eggplant jibuni, a traditional simmered stew.

Anniversary Lunch Buffet at Tsukifune

For three days in mid-July, Restaurant Tsukifune on the second floor will host a celebratory lunch buffet. Scheduled for July 18, 19, and 20, the event features a live kitchen where chefs perform tuna carving demonstrations. In addition to freshly prepared sashimi, the buffet includes roast beef, dim sum, and a selection of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes designed for families and groups. The lunch is priced at 4,500 yen for adults and 3,000 yen for elementary school students.

The lottery at Yunami will be held throughout the month of July, while the draw at Tsukifune will take place specifically during the three-day holiday buffet event.
