Kagari Kisshotei, a hot spring inn located in the historic Yamanaka Onsen district of Ishikawa Prefecture, has announced its “Snow Crab Kaiseki Tobi” plan for the upcoming winter season. Available from October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, the offering centers on a multi-course dinner featuring 1.5 snow crabs per person, served alongside local specialties and a view of the adjacent Kakusenkei Gorge.

A Comprehensive Snow Crab Kaiseki Experience
The kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal) focuses on the seasonal bounty of the Sea of Japan. Each guest is served 1.5 crabs prepared in several distinct styles. The menu includes a whole boiled snow crab, fresh crab and tuna sashimi served on ice, and a savory crab shell gratin. The meal concludes with takikomi rice, where the rice is cooked directly with crab meat to incorporate its flavor.

Noto Pork Shabu-Shabu and Regional Specialties
Beyond the crab offerings, the dinner at Restaurant Kaga Tobi includes an all-you-can-eat service of Noto pork shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat flash-boiled in broth). Noto pork is recognized for its tender texture and mild sweetness. The course also features Black Wagyu beef grilled with houba miso (miso paste on a magnolia leaf). To accompany the meal, the plan includes a 90-minute free-flow beverage service with 26 options, including local Ishikawa sake, beer, and wine.

Onsen Hospitality and Local Exploration
The stay experience is complemented by several hospitality traditions unique to the property. Guests receive a complimentary Kaga pudding before retiring for the evening, and a morning serving of “bero-bero”—a local Ishikawa dish made of egg and agar—after their first bath. On weekends, the inn hosts traditional Kaga Taiko drum performances. For those wishing to explore the town, the “Kaga Yu-meguri Machiaruki-cho” pass is available for purchase, providing gourmet tickets for local snacks like croquettes and sake tastings along the historic streets of Yamanaka Onsen.
