Following a temporary closure from April 16, 2026, The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa is scheduled to reopen its renovated dining facilities and lobby lounge on July 17, 2026. The focal point of the renewal is the debut of Riva Ristorante, a new Italian dining destination designed to bridge the culinary heritage of Southern Italy with the seasonal produce of Okinawa. The redesign aims to integrate the surrounding natural landscape with a modernized atmosphere across the property’s social and culinary spaces.

A New Era of Gastronomy in Okinawa
The introduction of Riva Ristorante marks a shift in the resort’s gastronomic direction. The menu emphasizes a harmony between Mediterranean techniques and Okinawan ingredients, creating a distinct regional identity for the new venue. Guests can expect a menu that highlights fresh seafood and local meats, prepared with the simplicity characteristic of Southern Italian coastal cooking.

Coastal Italian Elegance Stay Package
To mark the reopening, the “Coastal Italian Elegance” package provides guests with an introductory experience of the new culinary program. The offer includes a daily breakfast at the renewed Gusuku and a five-course prefix dinner at Riva Ristorante. This dinner allows guests to select their own sequence of appetizers, fresh pasta, and main courses from a curated menu. For stays through August 31, 2026, the evening begins with a welcome Spritz cocktail or mocktail to celebrate the venue’s debut.
Revitalized Dining Venues at The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa
Beyond the new Italian destination, the resort has updated its existing venues. Gusuku has been reimagined as a space dedicated to Okinawan traditions, introducing shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat boiled in broth) featuring local ingredients as its signature offering. Kise continues its focus on Okinawan wagyu and seafood, now served using bespoke Ryukyu-crafted glassware and tableware. The Lobby Lounge & Bar has also been refreshed, providing an open-air setting for afternoon tea services that incorporate seasonal local flavors while overlooking Nago Bay.

The Essence of Okinawan Hospitality
Located in the Yanbaru region of northern Okinawa, the resort is designed with motifs inspired by Shuri Castle, characterized by red-tiled roofs and white walls. The property operates on the concept of Keion (hospitality) and Gusuku (fortress), functioning as a secluded retreat within a luxury golf and spa setting. All 97 guest rooms were previously renovated at the end of 2024, ensuring modern comforts that complement the updated dining experiences.
