Courtyard by Marriott Okinawa Resort, scheduled to open on June 15, 2026, has begun accepting pre-reservations for its primary dining outlets, Shioka and THE LOUNGE. Situated along Kise Beach in Nago City, the property marks the brand’s first beachfront resort in Japan. The dining program focuses on regional ingredients and Okinawan culinary traditions, offering a range of experiences from casual beachfront terrace dining to sunset cocktails.

Beachfront Dining and Local BBQ Culture at Shioka
Shioka, the resort’s all-day dining venue, takes its name from a phrase meaning “scent of the tide.” The restaurant is designed with an open atmosphere that leads directly to Kise Beach. A central feature of the venue is its focus on the Okinawan tradition of “beach parties,” where guests can participate in an authentic BBQ experience on the beachfront terrace. The menu utilizes local Okinawa Wagyu beef, fresh seafood, and seasonal vegetables, providing a high-quality resort setting for both hotel guests and visitors to engage with the island’s food culture.


Okinawan Spirits and Sunset Views at THE LOUNGE
Located in the lobby area adjacent to the beach, THE LOUNGE serves as a versatile space that transitions from a daytime cafe to a bar in the evening. During the day, the venue offers light meals, sweets, and pastries made with local ingredients. As the sun sets over the horizon, the space becomes a bar featuring Okinawan craft beers and signature cocktails. Two notable drinks, “Deep Blue” and “Yambaru Sunset,” use awamori (a traditional Okinawan distilled spirit) as a base to reflect the natural colors and atmosphere of northern Okinawa.


Signature Flavors Inspired by Okinawa’s Natural Beauty
The culinary offerings include several signature dishes that highlight regional products. The Shioka Teppan Cheese Burger features Okinawa Kuroge Wagyu beef served on a hot iron plate with a rich cheese sauce poured tableside. Other notable menu items include the Spiny Lobster chanpuru—a premium interpretation of the traditional Okinawan stir-fry—and a 2.5kg Tomahawk Steak that is plancha-seared and slow-cooked in the oven. For lighter fare, the Maguro Tartare uses local bigeye or yellowfin tuna paired with sea grapes and a sauce made from Miyagi Farm free-range eggs.
