A Seasonal Celebration of Awaji Island’s Bounty

The menu is designed to reflect the island’s unique position between land and sea. The dining experience at Awami is defined by its architectural setting, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass that integrates the interior with the surrounding coastal landscape. This seasonal offering provides a contemporary interpretation of traditional island flavors, served in a space that emphasizes light and geometry.

Exquisite Savories Featuring Local Hamo and Awaji Beef

The savory menu focuses on hamo (daggertooth conger), a quintessential summer delicacy in Japanese cuisine. Highlights include lightly seared hamo sushi and traditional Kaede somen (thin wheat noodles) served with hamo kuzu-tataki, a preparation involving a light arrowroot starch coating. The selection also features premium Awaji beef spring rolls, eggplant dengaku (miso-glazed eggplant), and local boiled shirasu (whitebait), offering a comprehensive taste of the island’s seasonal land and sea offerings.

Artisanal Japanese Sweets in an Architectural Landmark

The dessert course features six innovative sweets, including a three-color mizu-yokan (water jelly) that blends adzuki and matcha with the acidity of tomato. Other highlights include Awaji loquat compote, watermelon smoothies, and a savory-sweet corn pudding. The hotel itself is a destination for design enthusiasts, situated within the Awaji Yumebutai complex designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando, providing a sophisticated backdrop for a summer escape.
