BLISSTIA SUITES & RESORT to Open in Okinawa’s Onna Village

BLISSTIA SUITES & RESORT Okinawa Onna Village is scheduled to open on July 15, 2026, introducing a service model centered on “land relation.” This approach seeks to integrate travelers into the local fabric of Onna Village by facilitating direct interactions with residents, artisans, and the surrounding environment. Managed by a specialized Land Relation Team, the property aims to move beyond standard resort stays by curating experiences that highlight the specific cultural and natural heritage of the Kunigami District.

A New Concept in Land Relation Hospitality

The resort’s operational philosophy is built on collaborations with local businesses and residents, referred to as Land Relation Supporters. Through these partnerships, the hotel designs stays that allow guests to uncover the less-documented charms of the region. The intent is to foster a deeper, more permanent connection between the visitor and the destination, providing services and perspectives that are unique to this specific site in Onna Village.

Immersive Local Experiences and Traditional Crafts

Central to the guest experience are several original programs developed with local masters. Guests can participate in workshops at Seifugama kiln to create yachimun (Okinawan pottery) using two-million-year-old red clay excavated directly from the hotel’s construction site. This material connection to the land is mirrored in the resort’s partnership with Kamimura Shuzo, a distillery founded in 1882. Here, guests can store awamori (a traditional distilled spirit) with personal messages in an underground cellar, intended for retrieval after five or ten years of aging.

For those seeking engagement with the island’s geology, the resort provides private access to CAVE OKINAWA. This limestone cave is recognized locally as a “power spot” and offers a mystical environment for exploration. These programs are designed to provide sensory immersion into the history and natural rhythms of the island.

Facilities Nestled in Nature

The architectural design emphasizes a connection to the landscape, featuring a 6th-floor infinity pool that aligns with the horizon where the forest meets the sea. A secondary indoor pool on the 4th floor utilizes Ryukyu limestone and wood accents to create a sheltered aquatic space. Dining at the main restaurant, Mori ‘MUI’, follows the philosophy of ishoku dogen—the belief that medicine and food share the same source. The menu focuses on gastronomy derived from locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the seasonal produce of Okinawa.

Additional amenities include a comprehensive spa facility equipped with a sauna and public bath, as well as a relaxation treatment center and a fitness gym. A curated shop on-site features Okinawan crafts and the hotel’s original aromas, allowing guests to bring a piece of the local craftsmanship home.
