Night Zipline Experience Debuts at Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort

Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort has announced a limited-time “Night Zipline” experience, scheduled for Saturday evenings from August 1 to September 5, 2026. While the resort’s daytime zipline is known for its views of emerald green waters, the nighttime version is designed to provide a sense of floating through the night sky. Participants glide 250 meters from the starting point, passing over a lit-up pool before heading toward the darkness of the sea.

Japan’s Only Ocean-Crossing Night Zipline

The experience offers a distinct contrast to the daytime activity, replacing the bright coastal scenery with an atmospheric descent through the dark. The flight path carries participants from the resort’s elevated launch point, across the property’s illuminated swimming facilities, and out over the East China Sea. This 250-meter journey is currently the only ocean-crossing zipline in Japan available for nighttime use.

Sustainable Illumination with Buoy Lanterns

To enhance the coastal atmosphere, the venue is decorated with “Buoy Lanterns,” light installations crafted from waste materials collected on Sunmarina Beach. These lanterns are styled to resemble traditional Okinawan floating balls, reflecting the resort’s focus on environmental conservation. Guests are invited to write messages on the buoys, contributing to the gentle light that illuminates the water’s surface during the event.

Limited Summer Engagement

The activity is restricted to 25 participants per night to ensure a focused experience. Sessions scheduled for August 1, 8, and 15 are reserved exclusively for hotel guests, while those on August 22, 29, and September 5 are open to both staying guests and outside visitors. Reservations must be made online, with booking windows opening at 15:00 on each event day. The experience is priced at 4,950 yen per person, inclusive of service charges and taxes.
