Hotel New Grand Unveils Harbor-View Summer Afternoon Tea

Exclusive Summer Flavors with a Panoramic View

Hotel New Grand has announced a limited-edition “Summer Afternoon Tea with Spectacular Views,” to be held at the panoramic restaurant Le Normandie from July 15 to August 31, 2026. Available exclusively on weekdays and limited to just five groups per day, the experience is designed to complement the expansive views of Yokohama Harbor and the vessels passing through its waters.

A Seasonal Menu Inspired by Coastal Vacations

The tea service features a selection of sweets and savories that draw inspiration from a summer vacation at sea. The top tier of the tea stand includes creative items such as “Watermelon Macarons” finished with a salt accent, and an “Ocean Verrine” layered to resemble clear seawater. A “Lemon Cake,” adapted from the hotel’s classic lemon pie, provides a bright, citrusy note suited for the season.

The middle tier offers a white peach mousse topped with passion fruit, fruit baskets filled with kiwi and pineapple, and a pineapple tarte Tatin. For the savory portion, the menu includes items designed to be refreshing in the summer heat, such as “Green Papaya Achar” and a “Pan Bagnat”—a traditional Niçoise-style salad sandwich. The service is completed with plain and tea-flavored scones served with clotted cream and jam.

The Nautical Elegance of Le Normandie

The venue, Panoramic Restaurant Le Normandie, is located on the 5th floor of the hotel’s Tower Wing. Its interior design is modeled after the concept of a luxury cruise ship, providing an immersive atmosphere where the blue sky and sea of Yamashita Park serve as a backdrop. Guests may choose from a curated beverage menu that includes original tea blends, herbal teas, and coffee.
