From September through November 2026, Cafe Restaurant Le Temps at Hotel Granvia Kyoto will host a seasonal sweets buffet that emphasizes a balance between Western pastry techniques and traditional Japanese flavors. The menu highlights autumn produce, including Muscat grapes, pears, and pumpkin, integrated with elements such as hojicha (roasted green tea), black sesame, and chestnuts.

A Fusion of Japanese and Western Autumn Flavors
The buffet is designed to appeal to multiple generations by pairing familiar seasonal fruits with distinct Japanese components. Key offerings include a black sesame cheesecake and a hojicha and pear mousse, which reflect the theme of cultural fusion. These items are joined by a variety of textures and aromas, such as the earthy notes of roasted tea and the richness of seasonal nuts and seeds.

Live Kitchen Specialties and Welcome Sweets
Upon arrival, guests of elementary school age and older are served a “Nagano Purple and Tanba Chestnut Japanese Modern Parfait” as a welcome sweet. The experience continues with a live kitchen where desserts are prepared to order, ensuring optimal freshness. Notable live-station items include Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc, squeezed in front of the diner, and hojicha crepes, both served to capture the immediate fragrance of the ingredients.

Diverse Selection of Traditional and Modern Desserts
The spread features a wide array of meticulously crafted pastries alongside traditional wagashi (Japanese confectionery). Guests can choose from Muscat shortcake, apple pie, and pumpkin brûlée, or explore Japanese-inspired treats like chestnut yokan (sweet bean jelly), chestnut zenzai (sweet bean soup), and dorayaki (pancake sandwiches) made with fermented French butter. The selection also includes a hojicha and pear roll cake, further extending the seasonal theme.
