Hilton Yokohama Introduces Locally Sourced Cocktails at Bar & Lounge Melody

Hilton Yokohama has introduced a new menu of four signature cocktails at Bar & Lounge Melody, each designed to highlight the agricultural diversity of Kanagawa Prefecture. Utilizing local herbs, citrus, and craft spirits, these refreshments are themed around cooling profiles suitable for the humid summer season. Each creation is designed to emphasize the natural aromas of ingredients sourced directly from regional producers, pairing them with spirits that complement their specific characteristics.

Regional Ingredients and Craft Spirits

The collection features ingredients ranging from organic herbs to specialized citrus varieties found within the prefecture. The “City of Rose” incorporates organic rose geranium from a Yokohama herb farm, paired with “The Yokohama” Japanese whisky. For a brighter profile, the “Citrine” cocktail utilizes Shonan Gold jam and Shonan mandarin, combined with “Number Eight” craft gin, which is produced at a distillery within Yokohama. These drinks are intended to provide a sensory connection to the local landscape through their botanical and fruit-forward compositions.

Savory and Evolving Flavors

Moving beyond traditional sweet profiles, the “Hatake no Negroni” offers a savory alternative by incorporating an herbal liqueur from Sagamihara. For those seeking a refreshing classic with a regional twist, the “Odawara Ume Mojito” blends a plum liqueur from Ebina with Juro plum jam from Odawara. This particular cocktail is designed to evolve in flavor as the jam integrates with the mint and lime, offering a shifting experience from the first sip to the last.

A Manhattan-Inspired Setting

Located on the third floor of the hotel’s Entrance Building, Bar & Lounge Melody features an aesthetic inspired by New York’s Chrysler Building. The interior is defined by a 7.2-meter-tall bottle tower and expansive windows that provide views of the Yokohama skyline across the water. The lounge hosts daily live music performances with no cover charge or music charge, creating an accessible environment for guests to explore a menu that includes over 100 wine selections alongside the new locally sourced cocktail series.
