Located within the lush Unzen-Amakusa National Park, Ryotei Hanzuiryo is a traditional ryokan (Japanese inn) set across a 5,000-tsubo (approximately 16,500 square meters) Japanese garden. Savor Seasonal Ginsen Kaiseki Cuisine
Dining at Hanzuiryo is a sensory journey where the chef’s attention to detail is reflected in every dish and vessel. The new “Hatsuyuku” plan features “Ginsen Kaiseki,” a specially curated menu highlighting seasonal flavors selected by the head chef. Guests can enjoy their meals in the privacy of their rooms, paired with a selection of sakes and beverages from across Japan. The kaiseki (multi-course haute cuisine) menu changes monthly, ensuring a unique culinary encounter during every visit.
Luxurious Sukiya-Style Private Villas
The property consists of 14 detached villas built in the sukiya architectural style, known for its understated elegance and use of natural materials. Twelve of these are two-story villas spanning approximately 250 square meters, offering garden views through wide verandas. The first floor serves as a spacious area for dining while admiring the greenery, while the second floor houses the primary living quarters, including a Japanese-style room, a bedroom, and a seating area designed for relaxation amidst nature.
The Healing Waters of Unzen Onsen
Unzen was designated as Japan’s first national park in 1934, and Hanzuiryo honors this natural heritage with its “bihada-no-yu” (skin-beautifying) hot springs. Guests can experience the geothermal energy of the region in the “Higashi-no-yu” large public baths and rotenburo (open-air baths). This therapeutic onsen (hot spring) water, combined with the tranquil atmosphere of the secluded villas, provides a sense of rejuvenation away from daily life.
Introductory Plan Details
The “Hatsuyuku ~First Hanzuiryo~” plan is available for reservations made between August 13, 2026, and December 29, 2026, for stays from August 13, 2026, to March 31, 2027 (excluding December 30, 2026, to January 2, 2027). Priced at 66,000 yen per person (for 2 to 4 guests per room), the plan includes one night’s accommodation with dinner and breakfast, and a 10,000 yen facility voucher per person for future stays. This offer is limited to two rooms per day and is exclusive to first-time guests booking via the official website.
